Sometimes Change is Good…

On any normal day, if you asked me for my personal opinions on change I would quickly reply with “it sucks”. That’s just how I feel. When I am perfectly fine with my surroundings and comfortable with circumstances, Change comes in and ruins it all. But I guess today is not a normal day.

Over the past little while, I’ve been wondering about change, especially as I LEGALLY changed from being a child into being an adult. Honestly, I couldn't’t tell you what made me different on the 27th of September from the 26th but laws are laws, I guess.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons. The weather cools down, I can wear a sweatshirt and jeans wherever I go, and the trees seem to start on fire. I am so excited for fall to hit SVU. The trees and the mountains and the river… I’m excited.

People can change too. Sometimes it is for the better. This change usually comes after a deep evaluation of what could make life better, make them a better person. This change can sometimes come spiritually or even just socially.

Changing your socks is always a good thing to do. Except for maybe black socks… Because “blacks socks never get dirty. The longer you wear them the blacker they get. Someday I think I will wash them but something keeps telling me don’t do that yet” (I don’t know why, but I’ve had that girl scout song MEMORIZED since 6th grade).

People change and move on. The leaves fall and snow covers their remains. Socks get hidden under the covers and are never seen again. So, really? What is the point of change?

I know I have changed over the years. I’ve made friends that have changed my life and how I view the things around me forever. I've changed my living residence, which is something I never thoguht I would do. I change my hair color... kind of (It was ONLY the underneath). A simple change in one's perspective can completely change the direction of their life. I know that that changes that have come up in my life have made me stronger. It's not always easy but the lessons learned from overcoming these challenging changes can really be exactley what you needed.

I guess... sometimes... a little change is a good thing.

It’s also good to know how to change a tire. I know it sure would’ve come in handy at our game in Ohio Valley last week. Not only was the tire of our bus flat, but it was rusted onto the car. It sure was fun though watching coach trying to fix it while we played soccer in Panera’s parking lot!

I just pulled off the best (and probably meanest) phone prank ever. I changed my name on my roommates phone to the name of the boy she has been talking a little bit to. She thought it was him and was all ready for her date. But when she got outside she noticed her dream man was nowhere to be found. She wasn’t too happy when she got a phone call from her two crazy friends who she had been tormenting all day informing her that it was, in fact, us who had been texting her. She laughed it off. The prank will NEVER be pulled again.
